What, pray tell- is a BFF?

From the name Hitchcock & Balls, you'd imagine someone who loves Hitchcock & Balls...However this is more a case of loving film, and removing the unnecessary arty feel that come drown it. Consider this as tongue in cheek. I adore film, but find that reading some reviews can be tiring, and that to understand it, I have to read the same sentence several times. I also feel that there can be a tendency to like a film, simply because you feel you should. Welcome to my world of hate with Avatar...

Also, there is nothing wrong with liking something due to sentiment- in fact this is possible one of the most important aspects of film, and for those who love it. There is a strange breed however, that can destroy this...

I introduce you to the BFF. The Bad Film Friend. Everyone has one. The person who gets distracted, tells you events before they happen (don't watch a film with these types that they have already seen- it's a nasty trap), and feeling the need to read subtitles. Or in my case, playing a film with subtitles on a television ratio that doesn't show me the entire sentence. My french isn't awful- but I can't expected to follow an entire film getting only 50 per cent of the information.

However, there is a beauty to the BFF. They view a film impartially, and the films that do grab their attention are rare, and worth a look at. Most of the time. They are a good indicator if a film is good or bad- for somebody who may not be completely arsed or be bothered about the mise en scene, or other film jargon that really only describes what most people think but express...well....without the jargon. The brilliance of film ( and irony if you have studied it..like myself) is that most people know it anyway. My BFF is amazing friend in every sense of the word, but I could brain her, especially is she "misses" something.

I have decided to get my BFF to watch films, that will disgust/mortify/possibly damage her, for the sake of seeing a fresh outlook. The very large plus side to a BFF. I must say at this point, my BFF is a big bookworm, and to her I imagine I'm rather lazy. I won't read Harry Potter, but I'll do the film marathon...

So, for my reviews there will be mine, and BFF's.

Enjoy. If not, you've just wasted your time completely.
